The Axial Flow N-Line Control Valve is offered in a full range of materials, trim designs, pressure classes and end connections to solve any severe control valve or API choke application. The patented rotary to linear cage trim design ensures a 360º equal flow into the cage trim thereby guaranteeing flow impingement in the center of the cage, thus preventing any flow impingement against the body in either the inlet or outlet of the valve. The control mechanism is placed in a low turbulence zone avoiding flow induced instability and standing pressure waves. Low cost and highly efficient ¼ turn actuation allows the use of low fugitive emission stem packing. The internal cage guided trim offers low hydraulic imbalance resulting in a very low torque for reduced actuator size. This advanced design allows for the safety, cost and space savings of a rotary stem with the performance of a cage trim. |
Available with multi stage and tortuous path trims for the most demanding applications, a metal-to-metal seal gives positive shut-off to prevent excessive wear on adjacent block valves.
The valve is offered in both a bonnet entry design for N-Line repair ability and end entry for cost efficiency. (Patents applied for and pending.)

An extensive program of modeling, testing and continual field performance evaluations prove the superior flow characteristics of the N-Line Axial Flow design. Flow always impinges against itself and flow direction change only occurs at and inside the replaceable trim. Flow distribution is an unimpeded 360º fill of the cage nozzle for the most efficient trim possible. (Patents applied for and pending.) |
In addition to the most efficient single stage trim available, an advanced velocity control trim is available for cavitation, flashing and low noise environments. Consult your representative for applications engineering.

Key benefits of the N-Line axial flow trim include:
Shut-off is metal to metal. Individual test requirements beyond class IV can be accommodated. (Shut-off up to ANSI B16.104, Class VI can be offered as an option.) |
Elimination of flow impingement on body prevents downstream wear. |
Fast acting; allows valve to move full travel in less than 2 seconds (if required). |
100% pressure balancing of the trim reduces actuator torque and allows use of faster, less expensive actuators. |
Use of smaller actuators reduces consumption of pneumatic or hydraulic fluids. |
Highest erosion resistance of a cage type trim without the flow imbalance which results from having the trim at an angle to the flow as in an angle body valve. |
360º fill of flow cage increases capacity and decreases downstream turbulence. |
Control mechanism situated in zone of low turbulence avoiding flow induced instability or standing waves. |
Eliminates the disrupted flow field associated with angle body valves. |
